Mrs. Hofmann's math classes will continue our study of fractions and mixed numbers as well as lowest common multiples. We will also begin using the EOG test prep book in order to begin reviewing for the EOG. The end of grade testing will be given May 19 - 21, 2008. During the weeks after the EOG's we will continue to work hard in otder to continue to increase our math skills as much as possible so that we will be ready for Seventh grade math next year! Please stress the importance of working hard and doing their best on the EOG's to your children. Math rocks!!!
During the last quarter of the 2007-08 school year, Mrs. Hofmann's science classes will study space exploration, the Sun-Earth-Moon system, as well as the Solar System. We will be watching the movies "October Sky" and "Appollo 13" with parental permission, to obtain a better understanding of space exploration. This is one of the most interesting areas studied in the sixth grade science curriculum. Ask your children about what we are learning about in science. Also, if your child has an interest in science - remind them that there will be additional science jobs available in this area due to the Kannapolis Research Center opening up later this year. RCC will be offering science majors at the local campus. Science rules!!!
