The students in seventh grade are studying motion topics. Formulas for speed, velocity, acceleration, and momentum were used to calculate answers for the various types of motion. Specific units for the motion values were identified also.
A mini lab was performed where student groups calculated the speed of a walker, jogger, and a runner over a specified distance using the formula: Speed = distance/time (S = d/t )
Topics dealing with forces, Newton's Laws, and simple machines will also be discussed during the fourth quarter. The topics relating to forces and motion will be excellent prerequisites for the seventh grade trip to Carowinds.
If absent from school, check with the teacher for missed assignments. It is your responsibility as a student to makeup all work missed due to an absence(s).

**** Students will still be allowed to use warm-ups on tests.********
No folders will be kept by the teacher (Mrs. Hunter) during the fourth quarter. You must keep all graded papers from science after the papers are graded.
