There are many activities going on through the counseling office at Overton! If you have questions, please feel free to contact me at 639-3000, ext.108 or through school notes.

1. Small counseling groups are now underway for behavior management.  The next counseling groups will form in October and will deal with study skills for grades 3-5. If you wish for your child to participate in one of these groups, please contact me.

2.  Applications are now being accepted for 5th grade peer mediators. Mediators are trained to help other students work through their problems before an office referral is made.

3. Referrals are being accepted for tutors or mentors through Communities in Schools. CIS is a United Way agency that supports Overton by recruiting and training parent volunteers to help with academic and mentoring needs.

4. Guidance classes are now underway at all grade levels. Topics of discussion include study skills, respectful behavior at school, and teasing and bullying, to name a few.

5. Scores for 5th grade InView and 3rd Grade EOG Pre-test should be coming home soon.
