Welcome to our classroom! Mrs. Honeycutt and I are so happy to have your child in our classroom. We are looking forward to a great year! Kindergarten is a very important school year for your child. Your child will learn so much and it is very important that you know what your child is doing in their class so that you can reinforce it at home. Here are a few things to remember with our class - be sure to check your child's class calendar each month to see what we will be working on, remember to check and sign your child's agenda daily and please reinforce the classroom rules at home.
Specialist schedule:
Monday -
Tuesday - Guidance (A week) Library (B week)
Wednesday - Music
Thursday - Art
Friday - P.E.
Agendas: Please check and sign your child's agenda each day. Be sure to check the agenda pocket as well, for any special notes or homework that may come home. Check your child's color dot each day. Praise your child for their green dot and good day! Your child can also earn a blue dot for an execellent day! A yellow dot means your child recieved a warning about following the rules, please talk to them about their behavior. If your child gets a red or purple dot, you may receive a phone call or a note home that their behavior must improve. Your child will earn a paw stamp in his/her agenda for good behavior and for completing homework for the week. These paw stamps will be stamped in their agenda and will be given all year. Each quarter there will be a special program for your child to attend if they have met their paw goal. (P.B.S. - Positive Behavior Support) When your child earns 10 paw stamps, they will receive a paw tag on a chain (to wear on Fridays at school). They will need 6 paw tags to attend the 1st quarter program. Please check your child's agenda for paw stamps and encourage good behavior.
Thursday Folders:
Folders will come home each Thursday with your child's work from the previous week. Please go over it with your child and you may keep it. We will also send notes from the classroom, office and PTA to keep you notified of things at school. Please read these and send back only the things that need your reply.
