Thirty minutes of reading at home is a part of each night's homework. Each child is responsible for recording the pages that were read in his/her reading log.
The class has earned over 1,250 points in Accelerated Reader. The class percent correct is 90. Several eager readers are on their way to earning 150 points. Azyza Thomas, Margarita Pacas and Annelee Powell have already exceeded 100 points and are the class leaders.
Parents, please check your child's planner each night and encourage him/her to complete all homework assignments and return them to school. We welcome you to join us for lunch at 12:10.
Please remember that third grade is a gateway year. Our third graders must be proficient in reading and math and score a level 3 on the End of Grade Test in order to be successful in third grade. Encourage your child to give his/her personal best every day and to complete all homework assignments.

Remember your spellng contract:
Monday - Write the words three times
Tuesday - Choose five words and write a detailed sentence with each one.
Wednesday - Apply Formula Three rules to each word. Thursday - Study your words so you know them for Friday's test and for the rest of your lfe!
Parents, please encourage your child to study multiplication facts each night. There are flash cards at the top of the website to help your child study. Have your child try one of the math games which are a part of the web link at the bottom of this page. They are great fun!
