WELCOME TO MRS. BAILEY AND MRS. FILE'S KINDERGARTEN

Please read with your child every day. Let him/her read the words that they will be learning. Be sure to write down ALL books that you read at home together.
Our workshops for these units will include writing, reading, math using numbers and graphing, science and social studies.


We are introducing our "ZooPals" this month.  Be sure to ask your child to show you the signals and sounds that each  pal makes.  This is the beginning of the process we will be using in reading and writing this year.

APRIL SHOWERS BRING MAY FLOWERS!!!!

We are anxiously awaiting the flowers to bloom that we have planted in our garden!
May will be especially busy with our last field trip to Patterson Farms on May 2. We are learning about the animals and the plants that we will see there.  We can pick adn EAT strawberries, too!!!
On May 8 is Kindergarten Orientation for the class of 2008-2009.  On May 10 is our "Little Hands Big Heart" planting day here at Hanford Dole.  We will learn about oceans and sea life, Summer Safety, and have "Beach Day" for the last day of Kindergarten.  

AGS training for our class...May 27.

Our KIndergarten Celebration will be held on Monday,
June 9 at 9:30 am for our friends and family.

We will also be meeting all our 'ZOO PALS'.  Please ask your child each night about which animal he/ she has met and the sounds they make.  These sounds will soon become words that we can read!!!!
Have your child introduce our new "Zoo" buddies to you and the sound it makes.

Thank you for all the support and love you give to our class!!! This is a precious time for your child as well as our class.




 
Agendas: Please check and sign your child's agenda daily. Be sure to check back pocket for any special notes or homework. Check your child's color dot each day. Praise your child for green and possibly reward with ice cream. For a yellow, red or purple, please remind your child of the rules and the importance of following them. ICE CREAM DAY is FRIDAY every week. Thursday Folders: Folders will come home each Thursday with your child's work from the previous week. Please go over the work with your child and you may keep it. We may also send important notes from the school in the folder as well.

Thank you sharing your child with us this year in Kindergarten. His/her welfare is of utmost concern to us all here at Hanford-Dole. Please remember we follow the N.C. Standard Course of Study and we will have "NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND". If you have any questions about our curriculum, please feel free to call for a conference (639-3046). Because we feel that every moment of your child's academic day is important to our success, we can not have any impromptu conferences.
