We are on Theme 5 (Family Time) in our reading book. The children seem to enjoy the stories so far in this theme. We have  been working on antonyms, synonyms, homophones, and prefixes.

Please listen to your child read their library book at home so they can take AR tests at school. They should be taking a test everyday. They should read 30 minutes everyday. Many of the students met their 2nd quarter AR goal and I am very proud of them. I hope they work just as hard to reach their goal for 3rd quarter. Each child knows the number of points needed to reach their goal.

We are doing a writing wokshop with all students at Isenberg this year. The students seem to enjoy writing and are really excited when I tell them that it's time to write. Please let your child write for you at home. Let them tell you about writing workshop.

In math we are learning to count money. Please continue to help your child learn their math addition and subtraction facts to 18.

Spelling tests are given every Friday. The students have all week to learn these words. We do have a spelling bee on the last day of every month. These words are sent home at the beginning of each month.

Don't forget to sign the daily assignment book every night and write down what book your child read.

I would like for my parents to go over school rules with their child and stress how important it is to follow these rules. Thank you parents for all you do to help make your child successful at school.

On April 18, we will take our final field trip of the year to the Transportation Museum in Spencer.
