READING- Please help your child learn each week's vocabulary words to be successful. An oral test will be given individually on Friday. ***BOOKS ARE BEING SENT HOME WEEKLY TO BE READ AT HOME. READ SEVERAL TIMES, EMPHASIZING FLUENCY AND EXPRESSION. SEND BOOKS BACK EVERY FRIDAY. NEW BOOKS WILL BE SENT EVERY MONDAY. SIGN BOOKLIST AND RETURN WITH BOOK ON FRIDAY. THANKS!! *****Study the 100 high frequency words. Students will be assessed on these words (RECOGNITION AND SPELLING) at the end of MAY.
MATH- WE HAVE STUDIED TIME AND MONEY. WE ARE WORKING ON ADDITION FACTS THROUGH 12, CHAPTER 15. ***Each week we will assign a new set of MATH FACTS to learn. They will be given a timed test every Friday on these facts. Study nightly to memorize these facts!
SPELLING- A 10-word spelling list is assigned each Monday. Students will be tested on Friday. Daily studying is necessary to do well on the test.
WRITING- In Writing Workshop, we are working on writing personal narratives. We are still practicing good sentences, capitalization, punctuation, and adding details. We are working on revision tools. Students are working with each other to proofread stories.
HOMEWORK: PLEASE ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILD TO COMPLETE ALL HOMEWORK ACTIVITIES AND RETURN THEM IN THE HOMEWORK FOLDER EACH FRIDAY. STUDYING FOR FRIDAY TESTS EACH NIGHT IS A GOOD PRACTICE.
OUR FINAL FIELD TRIP IS ON APRIL 10 TO LAZY 5 RANCH. WE ARE EXCITED ABOUT THIS TRIP!! PLEASE WEAR JEANS, TENNIS SHOES, AND BRING A JACKET.
