READING- Please help your child learn each week's vocabulary words to be successful. An oral test will be given individually on Friday. WORDS FOR THIS WEEK: friends girl know play read she sing today write best knelt rest sign snack
MATH- We are learning to add and subtract using manipulatives. The children are enjoying working in pairs to use counters to answer questions. Playing games on Fridays is a fun way to learn our math concepts. MATH FACTS: 1+6=7 2+6=8 3+6=9 4+6=10 5+6=11 6+6=12 7+6=13 8+6=14 9+6=15
SPELLING- A spelling list is assigned each Monday. Students will be tested on Friday. Daily studying is necessary to do well on the test. All spelling words assigned will come from the first grade High Frequency word list. SPELLING WORDS FOR THIS WEEK: there use an each which
WRITING- In Writing Workshop, we are working on learning to be authors. We are using pictures to illustrate our sentences.
SOCIAL STUDIES: We are learning about Thanksgiving and other holidays.
HOMEWORK: PLEASE ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILD TO COMPLETE ALL HOMEWORK ACTIVITIES AND RETURN THEM IN THE HOMEWORK FOLDER EACH FRIDAY. STUDYING FOR FRIDAY TESTS EACH NIGHT IS A GOOD PRACTICE!
