This information will apply for the entire 4rd quarter. Asian studies will begin this quarter with the introduction of East Asia. Students will explore the land, economy, history, culture, and government of countries such as China, Taiwan and Japan. We will continue the study by moving west to include India and eventually the Middle Eastern countires. Our lessons will focus on both historical events as well as current events. Please encourage your child to tune into the news and watch for connections between our studies and the current world.
Our classes will be guided by the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. The lessons studied this quarter will focus on many NC objectives such as geography, relationship between physical environment and culture, movement of people, allocation of resources, quality of life, different forms of government, and the rights of individuals.
Please encourage your child to work hard everyday by doing quality work and always being prepared.
