STAR Notebook:Your child will bring home a STAR notebook each night after Labor Day. The notebook will contain a place for homework assignments, your student's planner, a reading log, and student work. Please review the notebook each night.
Shining Stars:
We will choose one student each week to be our Shining Star. They will be honored in our room by telling the class about themselves. When it is your childs week to be our shining star we will send a note in your childs planner on Friday letting you know that he/she is the Shining Star for the next week. We ask that you send in a few photos of your child from home that they may share with the class. We will display these photos in our room for the entire week.
Weekend Waggles:
Every Friday, one student will be selected to take Waggles, our special class pet, and his journal home for the weekend. Please allow Waggles to participate in some of your family activities. Choose a few of the activities to write in his journal so that they can be shared with the class on Monday.
Show and Tell:
Students will be allowed to share weekly by showing and telling about treasured items to the class.
Volunteers:
We would love to have you as a volunteer in our classroom. It is important to discuss with your child, before your first visit, that he/she must stay seated, continue to work, and follow rules as always. Thanks for your support.
