We have several ways to save work on our computer, we can either put files in the resource folder or the document folder. The resource should mostly be used when teachers create files that they plan to use from one year to the next (example: Quiz on Addition Facts).
When students are saving work that they have created, unless it is a group project, they will save that file in their document folder. If the file is going to be looked at by the classroom teacher, it might be better to save that file in the resource folder because this will allow the teacher access to the file without them logging in under each student's login.
How do I make sure others can share my files I have created in the resource folder?
If you are creating a file that will be shared with other teachers or students, you will need to give them rights. The rights you can give are read only, read and write, or no access. What does this mean? If you have a file or template that you want your students or grade-level team teachers to access, however you don't want them to be able to make any changes to the file, you give them read only access. If you have a file that you want students or teachers to access and be able to change, you will give them read and write access. If you have a file that you don't want anyone but yourself to access, you will need to change the file to no access.
