Moore's Corner

Welcome to first quarter and we're off to a wonderful start!

Reading-Please assist your child to learn each week's vocabulary words.  An oral test will be given on Friday.

Comprehension skill: making predictions
Phonics: Short i and possessives with 's

Writing Workshop-We are working on being authors. We are using small moments to do these activities. Remember: 1.Think of a small moment.   2. Picture it. 3. Tell it. 4. Write it. 5. Illustrate it. 6. Share it.

Math- We are using several strategies to add such as using the numberline and using doubles to add.

Spelling-Daily studying is required to do well on the test.  A spelling list is assigned each Monday.  So study! Study! Study!  The test will be on Friday.  The spelling words will come from the  high-frequency  first grade list.
