Howdy ya'll !!! Welcome to Hurley Elementary School, home of the all-stars! I am so glad you are here with us. It looks like the 2008-2009 school year will be one of the best yet! Our motto for the year is "Saddle Up for Success and Lasso Your Learning." So mosey on over and lets round-up an awesome education this year!
The character word for August and September is respect. Are we teaching children to demonstrate hard work and appropriate behaviors? Do they know that all people are to be valued and respected? It is important to teach children to be in control of their words, impulses and desires. We are their greatest role models. What are they learning from you?
Students in 3rd and 5th grades will be experiencing testing during the month of September. Third graders will take the EOG pretest Wednesday, September 3rd - Friday, September 5th. These tests will help Raleigh determine growth after EOG's at the end of the year. Fifth graders will take the INVIEW test on Tuesday, September 16th. This test will help teachers determine a student's thinking skills ability.
Mrs. Peltz and I are available to see children should the need arise. Children may leave us a note in our "cactus" mailbox outside our office or simply alert their teacher. Parents are also welcome to make referrals
