Classroom Discipline Procedures
2008-2009

It is with pleasure that I welcome your child to my room. We can all look forward to a very exciting and rewarding school year. In order to do my job effectively, and provide my students with the excellent educational climate they deserve, I have established the following classroom discipline plan. Please read it over with your child. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.
Rules:
1. We walk in the school.
2. We use a quiet voice with permission.
3. We keep hands, feet, and objects to ourselves.
4. We listen and follow directions.
5 We respect ourselves and others
Student behavior will be tracked using the chart
and color codes shown. Each day your child will
start on perfect day (green). The chart below will explain further.

Red=Office referral
Blue=Note/phone call home
Yellow= Silent lunch-Time out
Green=Great Day

I will assign homework Monday thru Thursday, but will not assign homework on Friday nor will I administer test on Monday. Any student who does not complete his/her homework assignment
will have automatic silent lunch.

Students who behave appropriately (No more than a warning each day) will be positively rewarded at the end of the week. Students will be allowed to choose from the list of rewards posted in the room. Students will write in their agendas (homework planner) at the end of each day their behavior color code.

I am looking forward to working with, and sharing this year with you and your child. Studies show that parental involvement in a childs education is one of the strongest indicators of student achievement. I encourage you to visit and volunteer in my class as often as you wish. Look at the handout for volunteer assistance and return to me with bottom filled out. Thank you for reviewing this plan with your child and for your support.

Scholastic Book orders are available to students monthly. Please order new and interesting books for your child. You may order on-line if you choose or email me the order at the above email address.

Practice makes the children better, therefore allow your child to practice math and reading often.
