Learning Corner
Reading: I have been sending books home with the children each day that are on their reading level. Please have your child read these books at home each night and return the books the next day. I am very proud of how hard the children are learning this material!
Math: We will be learing about measurement in math. Please ask your child about measuring and the new terms that we will be learning.
Writing: Your child will need to be able to write and read their first and last name by the end of the second quarter. Please have them practice writing their name at home. We have also began having the children start to "write". At this point in the year we would like for the children to draw a picture and be able to sound out their words to make a sentence. There should be appropriate space and punctuation for each sentence.

Parent's Corner
Please sign the agendas every night. Help your child write their first and last name and the letters that we are studying. Also, please send in Baby Wipes and Glue Sticks anytime that you can.
Behavior
Plan
North Rowan Elementary School has chosen to use a school-wide behavior plan this year. Each day your child will start on the color green. They can earn or lose colors and points for their behavior. Please look below for a list of colors and meanings.
Purple: Fantastic
Black: Super
Blue: Great
Green: Good
Yellow: Warning
Orange: Time Out
Red: Office
