Hello, I am the Title 1 Reading Specialist for First Grade. I work very closely with the teachers to supplement reading strategies to help students become better readers. Some of the strategies include: * phonemic awareness * decoding and word recognition * high frequency words * using graphic organizers We are busy reading and comprehending both fiction and non-fiction texts. Students check out books to read at home on a weekly or daily basis. Please read to your child daily. Reading is fun and very important!!!
