Please check out the calendar to see when our next meeting time is.
Our first meeting on November 6th went very well.
In total, we had 41 kids stop by. I have had roughly 9 other students ask to join after our first meeting.
Due to the high level of excitement about Art Club, and my limited number of seating, we are having to split up the large group into two smaller groups.
Beginner Art Club This is a group comprised of students who have never taken my art class or were previously in Art Club. The expectations are still high, however there will be more introductory art techniques taught to these members. This club meets on Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30. Advanced Art Club This group is made up of students who are more experienced in art due to being members of the Art Club in previous years or from taking class with me. The expectations for this group are extremely high in regards to artistic ability and behavior. This club meets on Thursdays from 3:30-4:30.
If your child is in Art Club, please make sure they have a ride home exactly at 4:30.

Art Club F.A.Q.s
What is the only rule of Art Club?
You must show respect to yourself, Mrs. Isenhour Stewart, fellow students, and our classroom and supplies.
What are the consequences for breaking the only rule of Art Club?
Mrs. Isenhour Stewart works on a "three strikes and you're out" policy. You will be given two warnings. The third time you break the rule, you will be asked not to return to art club and your position will be open to a new member.
Who is Art Club for?
The club is for any student who is interested in exploring art on his/her own and with the rest of the group.
What does Art Club do?
It consists of students from all grade levels with many different
interests. We explore different media (i.e. oil pastels, watercolor,
graphite, etc.) and art techniques. There are structured activities and
free expression days.
What happens if the member's ride is late to pick them up?
This policy is the same as breaking the rules. Three strikes, and you're out. I know this seems harsh, but I need to hurry home on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
History of The Art Club
The Art Club started at the beginning of 2nd quarter 2006. We contined meeting until 5/23/07. Our meeting time was every Wednesday afterschool from 3:30-4:15.
We did many things in 2006-2007, and here are just a few:
* Showed our appreciation for Ms. Booker through a puzzled grid portrait and giant card. * Created artwork for the PTA Reflections Contest in January. * Went
on a field trip to the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh to see
the once-in-a-lifetime Impressionist exhibit of Claude Monet. * Created works to display at Waterworks Gallery in downtown Salisbury and at the Salisbury Civic Center. * Made posters for the North Carolina Transportation Bus Safety Contest. *Learned how to do cartoon and realistic portraits.
This website is dedicated to the memory of our illustrious Art Club Member Tony Ramsey May you rest in peace. We will always cherish your memory and talent.
