Teacherease should be working. If you are having any problems with using your password or if you need me to resend your a welcome letter with your password, please email me.  There is a way for you to create a new password so it might be easier for you to remember it.

 Math for the week of

 May 21 -  June 1st : 

Thursday, May 20th:  We will be working on Compass activities in class using a compass and a ruler. 

Friday:  Students will peer evaluate drawing using a rubric on accuracy, labeling, and neatness. 

Monday:  NO SCHOOL - Memorial Day.

Tuesday:  We will assess some essential skills needed for 6th grade. 

Wednesday:  We will work on skills by dividing into groups and playing games using multiplication and division. 

Thursday:  We will be discussing tesselations of triangles, and polygons. Students will be required to complete two tesselations of their choice.

Friday:  Students will work on completing two tesselations they have made using two different polygons.

Monday:  Last full day of school - Field day! Tuesday:  HALF DAY - 5th grade Awards Day 8:15

Wednesday: HALF DAY! End of school - Enjoy your summer!

Science Plans:

Thursday: We will do the activity "Checks and Balances" from Project Wild.  

Friday:  Complete the "Checks and Balances" activity by graphing our data from the day before. 

Monday: NO SCHOOL

Tuesday: We will complete the Project Wild activity, "First impressions".  Students will be shown different pictures of animals and we will discuss what they are. Then in groups, students will be given a name of an animal they will do research on the animal to try and change the stereotype of the animal as being scary or deadly.

Wednesday:  Students will work on the First Impression assignment.

Thursday:  Students will write, make, or actual act our an advertisement for the animal they collected data on to try and change the stereotype of that animal.

Friday:  "Wildlife in National Symbols". Students will identify wildlife in national symbols. Students will research  wildlife symbols and make a poster to depict their findings.

Monday:  Field Day!

Tuesday:  Half Day - Awards day - we will finish posters if not completed.

Wednesday:  Half Day - LAST DAY OF SCHOOL! We will share posters and take up books, then spend home for the summer!

Science:

Important Dates: 

May 25th - NO SCHOOL - Memorial day

June 2md - Half day for Students 5th grade Awards Day! 8:15 am

June 3rd - Last day for students (1/2 day)
