        G -  (golf club, girl) I -  (igloo, iguana)

    During the month of January we will be studying the capital and lowercase letters above.  We will be practicing recognizing these letters, writing them and learning the sound that each letter makes.  Please practice these letters at home with your child daily.

      Other letters we have studied:
(please continue to practice these with your child as well)

S -  sounds like a snake hissing (sun, sailboat, socks)
M -  (monkey, mouse, milk)
A -   (apple, astronaut)
B -  (ball, baby)
T -  (turtle, toothbrush, turkey)

K -  (kite, kangaroo)
L -  (lion, lemon)
D -  (dog, door, duck)
F – (fish, feather)
O – (orange, octopus)

6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12
    We will be learning the following numbers in class this month.  We will learn to recognize, write, and count out objects for each number.

Montessori focuses on children becoming independent.  Please allow your child to do as many things at home as possible.  Examples:  dress themselves, wipe themselves, pour their own drinks, pick up their own toys, etc.)

8:00-8:20     Morning Message (settle in, calendar,
                  group line time, etc.)

8:20-9:15     Individual Work Time/Open Snack

9:15-9:25     Clean Up Areas

9:25-10:00    Recess

10:00-10:10   Bathroom/Water/Wash Hands

10:10-10:25   Story/Songs

10:30         Dismiss 3 yr olds/4 yr olds get ready
                 for lunch

10:40-11:15   Lunch

11:15-11:35   Group Line Time

11:40-12:10   Recess

12:10-12:20   Bathroom/Water/Wash Hands

12:20-1:00    Rest Time

1:00-2:00     Individual Work Time/Open Snack

2:00-2:15     Clean-up and Pack-up

2:15          Dismiss
