ENGLISH III  CP        Mrs. Linda Brasington

NOTE TO PARENTS: You may notice a small change in some grades.  There were some problems with the grades and the computer this nine weeks.  I have made every effort to correct the errors.    Parent conference day was November 3, from 3:30 to 7:00 P.M.

Currently we are working on THE CRUCIBLE,  Acts II and III.  This is a four-act play which is set in the Puritan village of Salem.  The play deals with the unjust accusation of witchcraft by young girls and the results of those false accusations.  Our next test will be on Monday, November 10.  The test will cover Acts II and III and the vocabulary for both acts.

Please  remember that students who are absent have only TWO days to make up their work.  If the student has an absence of a week or more, we will make arrangements to deal with the problem.  Some of my students  fail because they miss too many days and do not complete the required work.  Please encourage your child to come to school each and every day.  They need to complete all assignments.

TESTS count as 60% of the quarter grade.  Other work counts as 40% of the quarter grade.

I  reach school on most days by 7:30 A.M.  I am generally here from 3:30 to 4:00  on any day but Wednesdays.  If your child needs help, she or he can make an appointment with me for an afternoon or morning.  They need to let me know ahead of time so that I can be sure to be in my room.  If you wish to talk with me, call the school at 206-2000.  The secretaries will take a message.  Please tell the secretary the best times to reach you and give her your phone number.  I will return your call as soon as my teaching schedule allows me to do so.    If you have an e-mail address, please include that also.  Sometimes it is easier to communicate through the Web.

FREE TUTORING is available at 7:30 A.M. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  The GHS Lecture Hall is the place for this free help.   Students do not have to sign up for this help.  They may simply show up and ask for some extra help.
