Welcome to Drama class 2nd semester!
Our daily lessons are various performance and team working skills. We are always up on our feet rehearsing and playing games that help with concentration, memorization skills, and getting comfortable in front of an audience, and their peers.
8th graders will have a few long-term class projects this year. They will be making their own foam puppets and writing their own puppet show scripts. They will also perform group lip syncs; that will consist of creating and choreographing their own live music videos. The puppet shows will be performed in front of their grade level classmates in the cafeteria during class time on the stage. We are looking at their puupet shows being on February 22 or 24.
7th graders are working on writing, directing, and producing their own commercials for our partners in education, while another 7th grade class is working on their own show, called VMMS Got Talent. The show with commercial breaks will be performed in front of their grade level classmated during class time on the stage, possibly on February 22 or 24. The A day class is performing the commercials and the B day class is performing VMMS Got Talent. They will also perform group lip syncs and perfrom short scripted 10 minute plays.
6th graders will learn all the basics of Drama class. There will be several in class assignments that will pertain to them being up in front of their peers and learning how to be confident when speaking and presenting. Each class will also perform a short class play that will be performed on February 22 or 24 in front of their grade level classmates on the stage. The A day class is performing Anybody but Howard and the B day class is performing The Curse of the Nerd.
