PARENTS: this is something you can do to help your son/daughter. Using the online book, go to the vocab page at the end of the chapter, and click the word in Spanish, and your son/daughter will have to tell you what it means in English. Or, you can say the word in English, they say it in Spanish, and then you click the word in Spanish so they can hear if they said it correctly!

HOMEWORK and ASSIGNMENTS:

BONUS: In order to get your bonus points, read the question and hunt online for the answer. Then save the URL where you found the answer. On the top of this schoolnotes page, click the "Click here to email your teacher" thingee. Include the URL with your answer that you type in your own words. Please do not copy and paste the answer! Then you are ready to send me the answer. If you get it right, I'll post your name on the board behind my desk. After you take your test, you'll see that I have erased your name from the board and you'll know that I have added the points to your test:No bonus available!

Accents

If you want to be able to type the accents without changing things on your computer, here are the
codes for accents and exclamations:  (you COULD print this out and tape it to your computer, like I did...)

á = Alt+160

í = alt+161

é = alt+130

ó = alt+162

ú = alt=163

ñ = alt+164

¡ = alt+173

¿ = alt+168

Or, you can go to SETTINGS, language, and choose English International. If you do this, then you can hit the apostrophe key and then a vowel, and the vowel will print with an accent. To use an apostrophe when you are typing in English, just hit the apostrophe key, then the space bar.  To do upsidedown question marks and exclamation marks, just hold down Ctrl and Alt, then the exclamation or the question mark. Do the same to type the "ñ". (Be sure to notify the other people who use the same keyboard that you've made this change.)
