GRADING:
A studentÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂs grade will be based on the following:
PLEASE READÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ
There will be a weekly quiz every Friday so be prepared!
HOMEWORK: Thursday
Homework will be assigned on Thursday.
If it is Thursday-you will probably have homework. If a student does not complete the assigned homework and turn it in Friday at the start of class, it will not be accepted.
DISCLAIMER: Even though Thursday is HW day, students may be expected to complete an in-class activity at night for homework. This will occur if the class as a whole mismanages time. Do not waste your time in the classroom!
LATE WORK/ABSENCES:
Students will not be allowed to turn in homework late. They will, however, be allowed to turn in missing assignments up to one week (5 days) late in the Late Work Box. Points will be taken off each day work is late.
If a student is absent it is the STUDENTÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂS RESPONSIBILITY to make up work. Procedure for absentee work: Students will visit the Agenda Board to copy down the assignments that they missed in their Westwood Agenda Book. They will then be able to pick up the assignments in the Assignment Box. Students need to take care of this before asking me what they have missed. I am the last resort; students need to check the Agenda Board, and then ask their peers before asking me. I will be available before and after class to answer questions, so please do not ask during instruction.
NOTEBOOKS/TEXTBOOKS:
One of the key ingredients for academic success as well as success in life is organization. Each student is required to maintain an organized notebook and folder. The best way to stay organized is to put papers where they belong. Papers stuffed into backpacks often disappear. Notebooks will be checked and graded periodically. Notebooks and folders will be kept IN CLASS. Each student will have a place in our class filing cabinet to store their notebook and folder in. Each day students are expected to come into class, pick up their notebook and textbook and take a seat. This is a part of your grade, so keep up with this! We will go over exactly how to keep an organized notebook in class.
We will be using a textbook almost every day. We will only be using the book in the classroom so I will not be checking out books to every student. If you need or want to study from the textbook at home you may check one out on a daily basis. You are responsible for the book you take home.
RULES/ PROCEDURES:
Students will receive a rules & procedures guideline on the first day of class. They need to adhere to the policies listed on that handout. I will expect students to follow these rules/procedures in order to maintain a high-functioning learning environment. Generally, the guidelines are:
ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ Respect your teacher
ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ Respect your classmates

ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ Absolutely NO gum, candy, food or drinks
