Classroom rules and procedures:

Since lifelong success depends in part on
learning to make responsible choices, I have
developed a discipline plan which guides
every student to make good decisions about
his/her behavior.

Each student deserves the most positive
educational climate possible for his/her
growth. To that end, I have developed the
following rules:

1. I refuse to repeat myself needlessly.
Follow directions the FIRST time that they
are given!

2. Crowding the door and hallway foyer is unacceptable.
Be INSIDE the classroom when the tardy bell rings!

3. Bring reading material to class for daily
silent reading (20-25 minutes);

4. Bring textbook, notebook and pen to
class EVERYDAY! Appropriate negative
sanctions (i.e.: detentions and the like)
will be given for non-compliance;

5. No loafing - you are expected to work
while in class!

6. Restroom privileges are limited to twice
each academic quarter, emergency situations
notwithstanding;

7.Pick up paper and garbage off the desks
and floor. Remember to take your belongings.
Remain seated until the TEACHER dismisses
you!

8. MAKE-UP WORK IS FOR EXCUSED ABSENCES ONLY
AND IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE STUDENT TO
ASK FOR AND RETURN SAID ASSIGNMENT(S) IN A
TIMELY MANNER! NO EXCUSES!!!

**Appropriate dress, no electronic devices,
no outside food, hats, etc.**

Consequences:

First offense: Verbal Warning &/or Time Out.
Second offense: Detention.
Third offense: Double Detention.
Fourth offense: Referral.

SEVERE DISRUPTION: Any of the above
without prior warning.

________________________

Grading policy and format:

1.With the exception of students possessing
an admit for verifiable/excused absences,
work not submitted when due will receive
an NW/ZERO (a grade that is equivalent to two
"F"'s) in the gradebook.

2. IT REMAINS THE STUDENT'S RESPONSIBILITY TO
REQUEST MAKE-UP WORK IMMEDIATELY UPON HIS/HER
RETURN TO CLASS! STUDENT HAS 48 HOURS TO
COMPLETE MAKE-UP WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3. Persons with unverifiable/unexcused
absences CANNOT make up classwork, homework,
quizzes, tests, projects, etc. missed during
those absences.

4.Four or more unexcused absences during a
semester (18 week) course OR ten or more
unexcused absences during an annual course
will result in a withholding of grade pending
an administrative review. Student must appeal!

5.In terms of format, please keep in mind
that I will hold students to a vigorous
standard in so far as written assignments
are concerned. Deviations from the following
will cost the student considerably on his
or her assignment grade:

a. Use full name, course title and date, and assignment title!

b.Work is to be done in blue or black ink ONLY!

c.Work is to be done on white paper ONLY!

d.Unless a question is provided as part of an
answer, WRITE OUT THE QUESTION,
THEN THE ANSWER!

e. NUMBER your questions/answer!

f. PROOFREAD your work as misspelled words,
abbreviated words, messy work, illegible
writing and the like will be SEVERELY
penalized!

g.Work deemed illegible in its totality
will receive an "F"!

Pupil Progression Plan (PPP):
