Class Syllabus
Course Overview: The goal for this semester course is to educate students on research skills, for doing projects, by using areas of interaction, technology, group work, and library skills. The projects and assignments of this course will implement the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program Research Technology by using the following skills: gathering relevant sources, referencing materials, paraphrasing, report writing, avoiding plagiarism, citing sources, etc. In addition to class assignments, there will be a focus on two major class research-based projects. The majority of work will be in class with minimal emphasis put on home learning.
Required Supplies:
3 ring 1 notebook
3 dividers labeled for the following parts: 1st 9 weeks, graded work, and bell work
Agenda book
Highlighter, pencils and pens
USB memory stick
Lined paper
Book to read
Rules (follow these to keep your A in conduct):
Be seated with materials when the tardy bell rings.
No gum, food, candy or drinks in class.
Keep hands and feet off others and their belongings.
Be respectful of others.
Consequences for breaking the rules: warning, time out, moved to another class, detention, phone call home, lower conduct grade, referral to counselor or administrator, suspension
Other Information:
All work is to be completed on time. Late work is not accepted unless absent or accompanied with a parental note. It is the students responsibility to get make up work from the designated folder and return it to me by the amount of days absent.

Notebooks will be graded each 9 weeks.
There will quizzes, test, assignments, and research projects in class and a small amount of homework.
