The (February 4 - 12) objectives in language arts continues to be working on writing and using the "7" traits of writing. Currently we are working adding sophisticated word choices and voice to our writing. Literature this week will focus on dynamic and static charaters as we read about the homeless in our country and within our community.
Pleas Note: FCAT Writes is February 12th. Please have your children share the letter from Dr. Garcia pertaining to this test and new rulings by the State of Florida regarding cell phones.
Homework:
Swallowing Stones - read through chapter 9. Due for this book are elements B, K and C. I will be correcting these after Feb. 12th.
Homeless Brochure is due February 11th. Ask your child for the rubric and specifics on this assignment.
Language Arts: Continue practicing essay writing using both persuasive and expository prompts. Continue practice with irregular verb patterns. Vocabulary development is ongoing.
Literature: Reading in Literature books "The Treasure of Lemon Brown" Discussing dynamic and static characters within a story. Continue with novel, Swallowing Stones focusing on character development. Vocabulary development continues to be ongoing.
