Welcome to Mrs. Wallace's sixth grade math class!

We are beginning to work with fractions.  We will be examining equivalent fractions, reducing fractions, and comparing them.  Next, we will be adding, subtacting, multiplying, and dividing with fractions.  It will be a long unit.  Please continue to work with your child on multiplication and long division.  Many sixth graders struggle with these operations.

We are visiting the computer lab every Friday during math class. We are working on Odyssey.  Students can access Odyssey from home and work on assignments.  You can check your child's progress and grades on Odyssey from home as well.  Go to the link for Mulberry Middle School.  On this site you will find a link to Odyssey under "quick links"; follow the link and log in with your child's lunch ID number.  The password is a four digit number comprised of your child's birth month and birth day...no year.  They currently have a math assignment for decimals from the month of September. When they complete the assignment it disappears.  They also have an assignment to begin working with fractions.

We will be taking our three minute multiplication timed test weekly.  Remember if you master your multiplication tables you will get invited to a sixth grade celebration at the end of the school year.

Always come prepared to class and ready to work and learn.  Please bring your agenda, folder, paper, and pencil.

I look forward to learning with you.
