Welcome back.  I hope that you enjoyed your vacation.  I also hope that everyone is recharged and ready to learn.

We have a full 5 day week.  We will be back to our normal routines for only a week.  Next week is a 5 day week, but three of those days we have early dismissal.

In Reading we will be talking about Family Time.  We will also be talking about characters and setting.  We will have our normal center work.  Please encourage your child to do his/her best.

In Math we will be talking about measuring.  We will be doing math centers to review past concepts and reinforce current concepts.

We will be working on contractions this week again, so keep practicing them at home.

Your child will have vocabulary words, if they have passed all 11 sight word lists.  Your child will be receiving lists 5 and 6 on Monday, if they have not received them yet.  Your child needs to know all words on lists 4, 5, and 6 by next Friday.

• Starfall This is a good reading website.
• Phonics website This site is really good to prepare for SAT 10.
• Internet 4 classrooms Languages Arts and Math, just go through the K-12 teachers section.
• Reading book website Type in chappell0131 in the class code. Your child can look and read the text book online. They can also review concepts that we are practicing in class.
• AR home connect This website allows you to track your child's AR progress. Their username is their id number. This can be found on the inside of their AR log. The password is their AR password, or their initials.
• Dolch website This will get you to the dolch words that we use. You can use it to practice, play games, or just review.
