This week is going to be so much fun! On Tuesday we will have our own little Santa's Workshop going on. The kids will be busy little elves making gifts for you! If you would like to help with this event, please email me and let me know. We would love to have you!!!!
On Wednesday we will get a chance to race our battery operated pig in a pig race. Our class was the top selling second grade class during our fall fundraiser and earned a pig to race.
On Friday the kids can wear their pajamas to school. We will relax with hot cocoa, sugar cookies, and watch The Polar Express. After the movie we will finish up our activites that we began earlier in the week after we read the book.
Reading: We will have fun with the book The Polar Express this week. We will practice using our reading strategies to monitor our comprehension, sequence story events, and write about the story. I know the kids and I will enjoy ourselves!
Math: In math this week we will continue to work on addition with regrouping. We will be working on adding three-digit numbers with regrouping.
Language Arts: This week we will finish our snowman papers that we started last week. The kids are getting really good at adding details to their writing. We will also be writing about The Polar Express and creating a scrapbook page to go with it.
Social Studies: We will be discussing some of the different holidays celebrated this time of the year.
Please remember to send in box tops and soup labels. This is money that goes directly into our classroom! Thank you in advance.
Please be sure to check your child's planner and homework each night and encourage your child to read to you nightly. I truly feel that the success of each child depends on our working together as a team. Thank you for all your support!
