Parents:

            It is extremely important that you practice the letter names, sight words, and letter sounds to mastery. These can be found on the homework sheet each week. The children will be graded on their knowledge of these items. The promotion criteria, for kindergarten requires mastery of the letter names, letter sounds, sight words, and math skills.

Some topics that will be studied this week:  This week we will be learning the sound /j/ as in jar. We will be talking about St. Patrick's Day in Social Studies. We are learning subtraction and addition in Math. We are continuing our exploration of Dr. Seuss's books and rhyme.

Each week your child will be responsible for learning to recognize a list of letters and words. Remember, your child must be able to recognize the words.  Making flash cards is the best way to practice.  a, b, e, f, g, h, o, i, k, m, n, t, s, c, d, r, l, p, u, z/.  Your child needs to wear tennis shoes everyday for PE.
