WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO IN THE FUTURE?
This curriculum has been created to help middle school students determine an education path for the future.
THE WORLD IS OPEN TO YOU!

I.   Interest Profiler:

You will determine your interests by completing the Florida Department of Education's Interest Profiler in http://FLChoices.org

Click on the link. Click on Create a New Portfolio. Enter a Login using your full First and Last name and six digits for your birthdate. Enter a Password using your Lee County School District Student ID Number. Answer a few questions to create a portfolio. Click on Career Choices. In the Work Tab, Click on Interest Profiler. Click on Start Answering Questions.  After completing the questions, your results will return automatically to you.

II.  Electronic Personal Education Plan (ePEP):

Now The Florida Department of Education has created a means to plan your education path through http://Facts.org.

You will be instructed how to create a login to design an Electronic Personal Education Plan. You will select a major area of study to plan your high school curriculum.

III.  Career Cruiser:

The Florida Department of Education Division of Workforce Education has published the Career Cruiser, A Career and Education Planning Guide. This guide will help you understand that life is a journey with many twists and turns. It will give you the knowledge and skills you need to make more informed career decisions. It is divided into three sections that include Get to Know Yourself, Be Informed, and Make a Plan

IV.  Lifestyles:

You will have the opportunity to determine your lifestyle and create a budget in Microsoft Office Excel to demonstrate the cost of living.

V.  Value Assessment:

It is important to understand what your personal values are in life to better select a career for the future.

VI.  Strengths and Weaknesses:

Studying and understanding your personal strengths and weaknesses can help you determine a career path.

VII.  Work Values:

To help you comprehend your feelings, you will figure out what is important to you.

VIII.  Personality:

You will analyze who you are as a person and your personality traits to help you distinguish what type of jobs are meant for you.

 IX.  Do You Want to Be an Entrepreneur?:

Are you "cut out" to own your own business?  Do you want to be your own boss? Can you handle the responsibility?  Surveys will help you determine these questions.

 X.  Interviewing:

Interviewing is a skill you will acquire at an early age. Practice interviewing for a job after determining how to discuss your worth as an employee.

XI.  Resume Building:

You will write a resume after you have determined your strengths, weaknesses,  personality, and values. Prepare to get a job in the future. 

XII.  Future Plan:

At the end of this course, you will be capable of writing a plan for your future.
