Greetings,
I am certified in General Education K-6, Exeptional Student Education grades K - 12 and hold a subject area expertise in Emotionally Handicapped. I also have an additional certification of Social Science grades 5-9.
I currently teach a 2/3 Intensive Academics self contained class. Instruction is centered on Lee county's Intensive Academics plan. My Reading, Writing, Math, Science and Social Studies classes are directed toward students reaching grade level academic performance and beyond!!
Reading class is instructed in part using the school's SRA intensive reading program.
Lessons, setting, environment, instruction techniques are directed and concentrated on each student's individual need, Specific Learning Disability and how to best ensure each child reaches their potential whether they General Ed. or in the ESE program.
All classroom activity is designed toward student achievement!!
Student achievement is evaluated using valid mock FCAT tests, computerized standardized testing, Brigance, summative reviews, teacher observation, text based tests, student work samples and products as well as authentic assessments.
My teaching phylosophy is a multi-dimensional approach. I use the best ideas from numerous educational systems. These include but are not limited to Differentiated Instruction, Multiple Intelligences, Tribes, Tough Kids, Glasser, Sterling, Spence Rogers...
