SchoolNotes.com - Linking Educators to the Community

Box Tops - We are collecting box tops to pay for our field trip to Sanibel Island in May. Box tops are coupons that you can find on many products. Each box top is worth 10 cents. We now have $18.00 but need $70.00 by the end of February to pay for our trip. Please ask neighbors and relatives to help us collect enough box tops.

Cursive Writing - We have begun cursive writing with letters beginning with an uphill stroke. l, h, k, t, The boys and girls are very excited. It is important that they learn the letters correctly so I don't want them to write the letters until they are taught. We will learn at least 2 letters each week.

Math - We are working on 2 digit additon and subtraction. Students should be on level 10 on Math Facts in a Flash. Please encourage your child to take a Math Facts in a Flash test on the computer every day. The program is available on a CD for checkout from the library for practice at home.

Students are expected to read an AR book each night during the week. You will notice that they are reading more fluently with good expression. The goal is to earn an 80% or higher on 3 AR tests each week. A couple of students are now ready for chapter books and their goal is 1 chapter book a week. We are recording our scores on a graph in the classroom. Students that make their weekly goal eat outside with me on Mondays.

Please continue to check and sign homework.
