Important Information!!!
Attendance: Good attendance and prompt arrival is very important to success in school. If your child is absent, please remember to write a note to the office telling why your child was absent. Be sure to date the note.
Accelerated Reader: Accelerated Reading Program is a program where students read a book on the Accelerated Reader list and then take a comprehension test on a computer. We will have 4th grade buddies helping our students learn the Accelerated Reading Program before school begins from 7:30AM -8:00AM. They will help them read the story and then help them take the test. When your children are ready to read on their own, they will be ready to take the test by themselves!
Arrival Time: Students will benefit most by arriving between 7:30AM and 7:45AM. The extra minutes will allow them to unpack, get organized, view TV announcements, and be ready and relaxed to start a great day!
Homework: Homework will be assigned Monday through Wednesday. Written homework should take 15-20 min. Homework needs to be supervised and parents need to sign it. Please make sure to use a pencil when doing homework. Please read together with your child each day for an additional 15 min.
Money: Any money sent to school should be labeled with your child's name and the purpose (book fair, lunch money, SECP, etc)
Academics
Reading class: Students will be placed / moved into reading groups that best meet their academic needs.
On the computer, the children work on Earobics.com and Starfall.com sites. These sites are also available from your home computer. These and other websites are listed at the bottom of this webpage.
