GRADE 8- U.S. HISTORY
This class is a survey of U.S. History, and covers almost a 72,000-year timespan. The students will study the following units during the first quarter: Native Americans, Explorers and Colonists, and the English Colonies. The textbook is The American Journey, which is published by Glencoe.
The grading scale is as follows: homework counts as a single grade; classwork and quizzes count as a double grade; quarterly reading projects, the three-dimensional social studies project, and the teaching project count as a quadruple grade; and the quarterly tests count as an octuple grade. Each quarter counts as a separate grade, and all four quarter grades will be averaged to produce the final grade. If you have any questions or concerns about the class, please do not hesitate to contact me via email or the telephone; my number at school is 772-1848.
