SCIENCE FAIR 

Science Fair is underway - Make sure you are following the timeline, or you will be stressed out. We have a very short time frame this year.

If there are ever any questions do not hesitate on sending me an email. There is kind of a time crunch with science fair projects (due  December 3), that is why this will also be students unit projects and it will count for a grade.

At the bottom of this page a Timeline in Word Document can be found - this was also given to students. There is also a link to the full Science Fair Guidelines and Handbook.

GIFTED 6th Grade- Earth Science

Weather Unit - We are finishing up Chpt 11 The Water Planet and starting Chpt 12 Fresh Water Sources

Classwork/Homework Week of 11/17

11/17 - Chpt 12 Test

11/18 - Chpt 2 Vocab, science fair display examples

11/19 - Unit Pre-Test Earth's Surface, science fair Q&A

11/20 - Section 2.1, notes and Crystal Lab

11/21 - weekly quiz, Section 2.2, data folders

GIFTED 7th Grade- Life Science

Classification Unit - We are finishing up Chapter 7 Classification and starting Chapter 9 Single-celled Organisms and Viruses

Classwork/Homework Week of 11/17

11/17 - look at microorganisms, pass back papers

11/18 - Lab Investigation: Viruses, create 8 review questions

11/19 - review Chpt 9, HW p309 #1-25

11/20 - Chpt 9 Test

11/21 - weekly quiz, data folders science fair Q&A

GIFTED 8th Grade - Physical Science

FORCE & MOTION Unit - We are currently covering Chapter 12 Gravity, Friction, and Pressure

11/17 - chpt 12 vocab in notebook, Section 12.1

11/18 - Investigation: Downward Acceleration, Section 12.2, 12.1 and 12.2 Review Questions #1-3 in notebook

11/21 - pass back papers, update data folders, science fair Q&A

 Regular 8th Grade - Physical Science

PINNACLE GRADE VIEWER INFORMATION

If you see any of the following:

Z = did not turn in the assignment

0 = did turn in the assignment but nothing was correct

X = excused from the assignment

blank = may be extra credit assignment

Homework Policy:

Homework will be given as a way for students to practice essential skills, preview new information, and reflect on their learning. Homework will be relevant to what is being taught.

Late work will not be accepted with out prior notification from a parent.

Notebook Checks                       10%

Each day students will have a Bell Ringer, which consists of questions that relate to what students have been learning or topics that will be taught in the future - to see what students already know. Bell Ringers will be discussed everyday after they are completed. These questions may also then reappear on quizzes.

Lee County Grading Scale:

A = 90-100

B = 80-89

C = 70-79

D = 60-69

F = 0-59
