The Classroom Theme - “FOCUS”

Your child will be bringing home a more detail course outline. As a short overview, all 8th graders will complete an ePEP (Electronic Personal Education Plan) before entering high school. All Take Stock In Children students will be given a clear pathway to college. Finally, all students will be given an opportunity to improve their computer skills in each of the three courses mentioned above. Please get your child a 2 GB Flash Drive for class.
We will be using the Lee County Public Schools District grading scale to determine the grade on tests, quizzes, homework assignments, projects, and all classroom assignments.
90 – 100 = A, 80 – 89 = B, 70 – 79 = C, 60 – 69 = D, and 0 – 59 = F
Week 5 - September 15 - 19, 2008
We had a great fourth week of school. Many of you successfuly logged in properly into the Roster Manager system. The Roster Manager System will allow you to do your assignment and receive your feedback on your very own computer. Many of you are now starting to appreciate why you are taking the Career Exploration course. You are finding that we are not only creating you a successful pathway for your future but also offering you the opportunity to explore the modern technology available within the district. I am very proud of the progress everyone is making with the Career Choice program as well as the Daily Electronic Journal entries. Please keep up the great work. If you have not already purchased your flash drive please do so now because the prices are at an all time low. Please share your work with your parents. The Take Stock in Children students had three wonderful tutors last week and more will be coming this week from FGCU. All Take Stock in Children students will also be receiving their mentors this week. Please keep in mind that October 2, 2008 will be our first reading at Bonita Springs Elementary School. We will be reading the book "Corduroy" as part of the Read for the Record project. Many of you have indeed taken that first successful step we talked about in class last week. Please continue to give your best and you will find others are in your corner. Students in the typing class did a great job last week with your typing test number four. I am just so proud of the wonderful material that each of you typed about "The Event of 9/11 and How it Impacted America." You did a great job of combining your writing and typing skills. Each of you will also be lgging into the new Roster Manger system and using the FCAT Explorer now that you have your new log in and password. Please do not forget your password because otherwise you will not be able to log onto the system to do your work starting today. Please keep in mind our key word for this year "FOCUS" . Please look below and you will find that I have added a few more websites and also added a Flash Card question for you as well. Your weekly schedule is also posted.
