Welcome to the 6th, 7th and 8th grade Business Education class. I would like to inform you about what will be expected of your child in my class and what you and your child can expect from this class.
COURSE OVERVIEW/OBJECTIVES
This is a semester long (18 weeks) class. In this class, your child will be covering an array of different topics in business. We will be covering concepts in budgets, paychecks and taxes, checking accounts, savings accounts, credit, communication skills, interviewing skills, job applications, resumes, exploring careers, and making a career plan. We will be using both a book (Learning for Earning) and the computer (internet) to cover these topics. We will also be creating power point presentations.
TEACHER GRADING PROCEDURE/GRADING SCALE
Students will be graded based on tests, quizzes, class participation, and projects/class work.

80-89 B
70-79 C
60-69 D
0-59 F
HOMEWORK/LATE WORK POLICY
Very seldom will your child have homework in this class, but it is expected that when homework is given that your child does complete and turn it in on time.
Late work will only be accepted if the student has a legitimate excuse or was absent. All work is expected to be turned in when it is due. If a student misses school, he/she has the number of days plus one to complete and turn in any missed work.
