Running Clinic For school age athletes
June 9th – 12th @ 6:00 to 7:30pm
Munford Middle School Gym

Please mail the check and registration to the address below to register for camp. The deadline for registration is June 3, 2008.
(Late registration may cause a delay with all the items that the participants may receive: t-shirts, medals, and awards. If you know that you’ll be late registering or you have any questions, please call me at 848-3833. )

Focus: To work on proper breathing, pace, endurance, and running strategy.
Supplies:
Appropriate running shoes, bottled water or beverage, small snack bagged with name, and medium sized towel.
Any individual with a medical condition must bring appropriate consent forms plus anything assigned to your condition.
Graduation Run: A local 5k run yet to be determined. This run is not mandatory

Camp’s focus: 1.To work on the elements of explosion, acceleration, stride, running posture, arm movement, kick, and gait.
2. To educate the athlete in off-season training, proper stretching techniques, injury prevention, and race preparation (diet and exercise).
Supplies:
Appropriate running shoes, bottled water or beverage, small snack bagged with name, and medium sized towel. Sprinting blocks are optional.
Any individual with a medical condition must bring appropriate consent forms plus anything assigned to your condition.

Invitational Track Meet
Rochelle Stevens, Olympic Gold and Silver Medalist plus NCAA 400 meter National Champion, would like to invite all athletes, their teammates, friends and family to come and compete against girls and boys in your age bracket at the Rochelle Stevens Invitational Track Meet. Important note: You don't have to compete on a team to participate.
There will be an Opening Ceremony at 9:00 am plus t-shirts, hats, music, and food plus lots of fun.
Doug Williams, NFL Super Bowl Champion Quarterback and MVP will be the special guest at the track meet.
Awards to be presented:
1st place - Medals
2nd and 3rd - Ribbons
Date: Saturday, May 24th
Place: Kirby High School
4080 Kirby Parkway, Memphis
Events: 1500 Meter run, 400 meter relay, 400, 100, 800, and 200 meter dashes, 1600 meter relay, long jump, and the shot put.
Ages of competition: 6 - 60 50 meter dash for 2-5 year olders.
Time: 8:00 am
Cost: 10 dollars per athlete/ unlimited races.

Remember, you don't have to be part of a team to compete in this open invitational. Curiosity will not kill the cat here. If you are curious to see what you can do, just come on out. Please come by to say hi. I will probably be one of the officials in the field. You may find me, with some Munford High School and Middle School athletes at the visitor's bleachers on the other side of the field. If you want to run with Munford Eagles colors, let me know at the track meet. We may be sharing tops, so please wear an undershirt. Don't forget that it will probably be sunny and very hot. Please bring drinks, a hat, and sun-tan lotion.
