-------------------------------------------------------
             ********************************

             CLASS REQUIREMENTS

  Physical Education is an ACTIVITY class, which means physical activity is our focus.  Stretching, running and sports participation are part of our daily routine.

      PHYSICAL EDUCATION CLASS EXPECTATIONS

  Students in PE are expected to dress out EVERY CLASS PERIOD.

Students need:
            * a solid white,solid light gray or
              an MMS PE shirt
              (partial credit for other than these)

            * shorts (no jogging pants, sweat pants
                      capris or baggy shorts that
                      hang too far below the knees)

            * tennis shoes with laces or velcro
                     and socks

   Students not dressed out for class do not participate in activity and receive an F for their daily grade.  ***We are glad to restrict or limit activity for students recovering from illness or injury - however, these students are STILL EXPECTED TO DRESS OUT DAILY for class.***

   Any color shorts are fine.  They must be acceptable for co-ed class activity.  Girls' shorts should be at least fingertip length- No cheerleader shorts! Boys shorts cannot hang too far below the knees and no "low riders".  Shorts should be comfortable for sports activities.  Students whose shorts are not acceptable for class will be asked to re-dress and will receive an F for their dress out grade.

   T-shirts should be either solid white, solid light gray (this means no print/pictures on the shirt) or students may purchase an MMS PE shirt for $6.00 in the gym.   Checks should be made out to MMS.

   Students MUST change into their PE clothes.  They may not wear shirts they wore to school as we often get hot and sweaty!  (Students are expected to keep up with their gym clothes as they would a text book or replace them if they are lost.)

   Tennis shoes must be designed for sports.  Shoes with laces MUST BE LACED up to prevent their flying off the foot or slipping around during activity.  No student will participate in sandals, slip-ons, socks, boots or bare feet.  This is for the safety of all students.
