Thursday:
Students need to have their reading spiral for class today, and it should be used only for reading. Today we will learn the format for the reading response journal which will be the product this six weeks for the outside reading project. We will practice the format by writing a journal entry on "Priscilla and the Wimps." This entry, a model for the other entries going forward, will be the first page in their spiral and will be graded when the outside reading project is due at the end of the six weeks
Outside reading project will be assigned today. Students need to have a novel, approved by teacher and parents, which is at least 200 pages by the end of the class on Friday.
Friday:
Library-students will be chosing books for the outside reading project and conferencing with me regarding their choices.
