- Students will need to get copies of Animal Farm ISBN# 0451526341 and Lord of the Flies ISBN# 0140283331
- We will be going over classroom expectations and procedures.
-Students will be reading "The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas" and will be taking a literature and writing assessment.
-We will be discussing the concept of Utopia in our world
- Students will be working in groups on a "Search for Paradise"
- Students will be working on creating a model of their ideal room.
-If there is time, students will also be creating an ideal classroom and will be presenting this to the class.
- Students will do Word With in a Word activities, there will be quizzes every two weeks.

-We will begin the first steps to writing a memoir. This will be an ongoing assignment for the first quarter.
-We will be interviewing a classmate and creating a wanted poster for them.
