Dear Parents,    

      I passed out the Scholastic book orders last week but one of  the orders did not have a name! It was for $45.00 and the books ordered were a Caldecott Pack, House in the Night, Legend of Sleepy Hollow, and  a Magic Schoolbus Chapter Book Pack. If this is your child's, please claim it!

     Thanks to all of you who attended "Open House."   I enjoyed talking with all of you and I know that the students are going to have a great year.  I'm glad that so many of you signed up for Art a la Carte and to help at the Spooky Spaghetti. The children love to see their parents at school!!!! 

     The children are working hard on the first unit of inquiry. They have learned many things about making and accepting rules, the three branches of government, and how a person becomes President. Please come by and see our mobiles and flags!

     In math, we just finished our first unit.  Our next unit will concentrate on learning /reviewing math facts.  We will continue to use the 100's chart to help us with place value. 

     Please look on the bulletin board outside the classroom to sign up for the Spooky Spaghetti. Thanks in advance for your help.  Also, every Thursday is library day.

September 30- Grade speed meeting 6:30 pm

October 1- Picture Day...Forms and payment due by Oct. 1

October 1- Breakfast with Books

October 24-Spooky Spaghetti 4:00-8:00

Please help your child remember to  return his/her homework each day.  Spelling should be completed on the  sheets that will be given with each unit and should be turned in the following day.  Also, please remember to sign your child's yellow "Read and Respond" folder and return it every Friday.  This counts as part of your child's reading grade.
