Field Day
Thank you to all the parents who helped with Field Day. We had a great time and the weather was wonderful. I’m very proud of the students for showing good sportsmanship. An extra thanks to Cookie Boeker (Caitlin’s Mom) for coordinating the drinks and bringing the cooler for our class.
Camping
This week the students are at Camp Read and Write in our room. They are having a great time working with the group in their tent. Be sure to ask your camper about their tent name and mascot. Each day, I (as “Camp Director”) will pick two Campers of the Day who are displaying the PYP attitudes and profile. Also, I will pick a tent of the day – the tent that follows directions and keeps their things neat and orderly. A special thank you to Steve Alley (Ellen’s Dad) and Monica Phillips (Maggie’s Mom) for setting up the tents on Monday morning. On Wednesday we will be treated to smores after lunch (thanks to Ann Radtke!).
Our camping theme goes with our planner about Habitats Around the World. We will be reviewing all the habitats we’ve talked about for the past 5 weeks, with a focus on the Rain Forest. Please feel free to come by the room and check out our new habitat!
End of Year Party
Next Wednesday is our 3rd Grade party. The students will rotate to each 3rd grade room for a fun activity. We will eat lunch in the room and celebrate our final full day together. I will send out more information about this event later. Thank you to all the parents who are working on our party.
