Dear Parents,
Your child is allowed to bring 1 board or card game from home to play at school tomorrow. This game has to be able to fit into his/her backpack. You are not allowed to bring electronic games(For example: Nintendo DS). Please have your name on the game somewhere. If your child does not bring a game, please don’t worry! There will be plenty provided by friends. Please have your child empty his/her backpack; some packs are coming back full from the previous day. Also, remember the $4 for lunch tomorrow. The children will have chicken nuggets, fruit, a cookie and a drink. A big thanks to Cookie for organizing the lunch!!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Morrison
Dear Parents,
I want to thank all my parents who were able to attend Friday’s programs. It was inspiring to see how the children came together to help, critique and provide positive feedback creating the program you observed on Friday. I wish you could have been part of their development seeing their enthusiasm and creative minds at work.
This year has been an amazing and wonderful year. Each student is very special to me. I will miss them but know that they are all ready for third grade.
We will have our End of the Year party on Wednesday. Please send $4 to cover the meal. We will be ordering Chick-fil-la and providing cookies. Please remember Thursday is an early dismissal day.
Thank you again for your support this year. I hope you can make the year-end party from 11:30-1:00pm on Wednesday.
Enjoy your summer!
Mrs. Morrison

Dear Parents,
Thank you for coming to the Student-led conferences. If you were not able to attend on that day, please email me a time when it fits your schedule.
I also want to inform you that the school calendar is wrong on our field trip date to the museum. It has that we are going on the 23rd but we had to change it to the 30th due to the VIPS luncheon.
Karin Williams is making our shirts this year for Field Day. We are Morrison's Mighty Eagles. Please note that Field Day has been changed to May 13th in the morning.
We have selected our groups for the weather presentations. We will be researching and writing up the report next week. Your child may ask for props for this assignment. Each weather report will be video taped in the classroom.
It is an inquiry into:
*The different types of weather
*Continual changing nature of the earth
*Interaction of the forces of nature
During this unit, students will keep a weather journal. They will learn vocabulary relating to types of weather and instruments used to measure the weather. They will be able to describe and illustrate the steps of the water cycle. They will also create a forecast and present it to the class. They will also list special instructions that one would do to prepare them for the weather for that particular day. The above activities will be created and completed in the classroom.
In math, we are working in the Everyday Math Journal 2. We will be working on units of capacity, subtraction with regrouping, addition with regrouping, perimeter, and area.
Please look for a permission slip to The Weather Museum in this week's red folder. Jennifer Enos will be our class chaperone. Please send $10 along with the signed permission slip as soon as possible.
