2nd semester 2008. The Big Time.
EEK! How time flies
April 21 - 24, 2008
ROOT: Vers, vert = turn
APRIL
NATIONAL POETRY MONTH
For three weeks the students will work on completing "Poets' Corner" an 11th grade district assessment. The students will read and analyze four poems that share a common theme, then write an essay discussing the presentation of that theme in the poems citing text to support the thesis. In addition each student will present a poem to the class complete with a statement of context.
I attached a time line for the project and Mr. Craft's website below. Both are very important to successful completion of this assessment. In addition to presentation as a student's body of evidence, this assessment is also a class grade.
Big time indeed.
English 3 is a rigorous course for Junior students. The class is designed around reading and writing with an emphasis on American Literature. Please see the attached documents regarding class expectations.
