English 3 The class has decided to recite poetry for the rest of
the year. We decided that at the beginning of class I would
hand out a poem. The students would have about 20 minutes to
figure out how they were going to read the poem. I take grades
at random. The two English Three classes decided it would be
best if I did not tell them whether or not I was grading until
after the class was through.
English 4 We are reading Welch's Fools Crow and discussing what
the students brignt to the table.
Humanities read Beowulf, introduced by Burton Raffel. Next,
we will read the prologue to Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. In
class, discussions include cultural, religious, and political
revelations in the literature.
