I just wanted to let all the parents and students know that I've truly enjoyed each and every one of your children this year in the third grade.  They have made growth and strides this year, in preparation for fourth grade.  Thank you for sharing your children with me.

GENERAL CLASS INFO: Homework is given throughout the week, in math, reading and spelling, with Fridays being a "no homework" night.  Weekly spelling and reading tests are on Fridays with their spelling words being sent home on Mondays.  "Missing Assignment" lists are sent home every other Monday.  Please check their binders to help keep you updated.

Students are always encouraged to practice their addition/subtraction/multiplication facts.

FYI:

*Homework is scheduled 4 nights a week, for about 45 minutes nightly.

* Homework is usually one math sheet, and 20 minutes of reading, student choice. In addition, there is a weekly reading/spelling packet, and a one-page vocabulary worksheet.

* 10 minutes of math fact practice (addition, subtraction, or multiplication facts) daily.

* Several times during the year, a project will be assigned to be worked on at home.

* "Missing Assignment" sheets are sent home every other week, to keep you posted on what assignments have not been turned in.  If the student has all work turned in, then a dated certificate is sent home in lieu of the missing assignment list.  Please remember to check student binders for homework.

Scholastic Book orders will be sent home periodically.  These are NEVER a requirement, but instead an opportunity for students and parents to purchase books.  Points for purchases are awarded to the classroom, where classroom sets are later purchased.  All students are encouraged to use the classroom paperback library: two book maximum, for school or home use.

I usually update this webpage 3-4 times per year.  I check my email daily, and welcome email contact at any time.

If you need to reach me via email:

Thanks again,

Susie Scott
