We look forward to celebrating every child's birthday. You may send a treat (cupcakes, cookies, donuts, etc.) on the special day Please let me know so that I can plan for it.
It is my policy to let a student pass out birthday invitations in class only if all the girls and boys in our class are invited. I understand it is sometimes hard to invite all the students but it is also hurtful to any children who may be left out.
HOMEWORK POLICY
Every Friday your child will bring home
their homework for the week. All of the homework is due back on the following week on Thursday. Part of your child's homework each week is reading. Please read with your child at least 10-15 minutes a night. I do keep track of homework and I do place this information on the report card.
For your convenience, I have included sight words for you to help your child study at home. It is important to read with your child at home for at least 15 minutes a night. The children love to show you what they can do!

If you ever have any questions or concerns please feel free to call me at 473-4454 and leave a message in my voice box. You may also email me helen.selgren@bsd.wednet.edu but please do not email urgent messages such as: "Please don't put Suzy on the bus." I often do not have time during the day to check my mail. All urgent messages should go through the office. Naval Avenue Early Learning Center's 1st graders are awesome!!
