Naval Avenue Science Investigations

5:00 - 6:00 PTA Meeting

6:00 - 7:00 Science Fair

 

Naval Avenue students will demonstrate their science knowledge  

at Naval Avenue's Science Fair.

Grades Preschool – 3rd grade will participate in class investigations.

3rd graders will present individual or team investigations.

Preschool -3 grade students can also enter individual investigations.

Ask your teacher for an Investigation Notebook or

download the notebook (see attachments at the end of this page)

 Science Fair Timeline: 

Week of January --  Science Kick-Off during library class

January 16th - March 8th     Students work on investigations

                               See specific project due dates on attached calendar

Tuesdays, 2:50 – 3:30          “Science Mentors” help 4th/5th graders

Thursdays, 3:35 – 4:30           After-School Science Workshop –                                            Help for students working on individual projects

Wednesday, March 7 - 4:00 – 5:00  Set up Investigation Projects

Thursday, March 8 -  6:00 – 7:00  Science Fair

March 30 – 31             Washington State Science & Engineering Fair                                     At Olympic College www.wssef.org

 

  "Science Mentor"

4th & 5th graders will have a mentor

to help guide them through the scientific process.

 Mentors meet with students Tuesdays 2:50 – 3:30 

If you would like to be a mentor,

call Mrs. Wasserburger 473-4425

You don’t need to be a “scientist” ...

You just need an interest in helping a student!
